L’Etoile Lalande de Pomerol 2014

From Guillaume Thienpont (son of Vieux Ch. Certan’s Alexandre Thienpont) comes this 80% Merlot 15% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in used VCC barrels.   Red-purple with well formed legs; dry, medium-bodied with freshly-balanced acidity and medium phenolics. Supple, subtle, balanced, elegant but holds the interest. Offers red fruits and floral with a bit of spice. Has some exotic notes.
